Mission Statement
The mission of the National Flag Football League of Atlanta, Inc. (NFFLA) is to create a welcoming, competitive, and inclusive space for individuals of the LGBTQIA+ community—including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, aromantic individuals—as well as straight allies of all genders. We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone can participate in flag football without fear of discrimination, fostering a spirit of camaraderie, respect, and sportsmanship. The NFFLA is committed to expanding opportunities for engagement at both local and national levels, empowering participants to connect, grow, and thrive within a supportive community.
About This Cause
In alignment with the vision of our parent organization, the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL), the National Flag Football League of Atlanta (NFFLA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting competitive and inclusive, all-gender recreational flag football. We welcome and encourage participation from individuals of all identities and skill levels. It is a fundamental principle of the NFFLA that all social and athletic activities are inclusive by nature. No individual shall be excluded from participating based on sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, athletic ability, physical challenge, or HIV status. In promoting gender inclusion, the NFFLA respects each player's right to self-identify their gender, recognizing that a player's identified gender is considered to be their authentic gender. Through flag football, the NFFLA aims to foster an environment where LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies can: Engage in flag football within a friendly yet competitive setting. Enjoy league play and social activities within a safe and inclusive environment, both on and off the field. Build supportive, healthy relationships and establish a family-like support system among LGBTQIA+ and allied teammates. Cultivate community, camaraderie, and inclusivity through volunteer opportunities, league values, competition, and social events. The NFFLA remains dedicated to fostering an empowering and vibrant community that celebrates diversity and mutual respect.
