Mission Statement
Established in 2014, the Shule Foundation is a distinguished 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of street-connected boys in Uganda. Our mission is to guide these young individuals toward sustainable prosperity through comprehensive support, educational opportunities, and skills training.
About This Cause
Our Impact In Uganda, boys aged 6 to 21 constitute 98% of the over 5,000 full-time street residents in Kampala, with an alarming 16 new boys arriving daily. Over 50% of boys across the country are out of school, highlighting a critical and growing crisis. To address this crisis, Shule Foundation has implemented targeted interventions focusing on access to quality education, vocational training, and comprehensive support services, paving the way for a more equitable future. Our Programs - Daily Outreach: Our dedicated teams engage with street-connected boys, building trust and providing immediate assistance, including medical care and invitations to our Drop-In Center. - Drop-In Center: Serving as the heart of our operations, the center offers meals, showers, catch-up classes, skills training, counseling, and engaging extracurricular activities to 35 to 40 boys daily. - Shule Mavazi Fashion Program: We equip boys with skills in the fashion industry, enabling them to reach their full potential and achieve financial independence. - Shule Computer School: Uganda’s first computer school dedicated to former street-connected boys, providing essential digital literacy skills to prepare them for the modern job market. - Center for Eggsellence: A dynamic social enterprise offering hands-on poultry training, transforming street boys into skilled professionals in animal husbandry.
