Mission Statement
Art Impact Project's mission is to enhance emotional wellnes through creative expression. We work with middle school-aged youth, adults, and seniors. We provide community-based art programming in partnership with schools, mental and behavioral health facilities, residential treatment centers, community spaces inlcuding libraries, and more to promote positive mental health and wellness. Making art in group settings is the vehicle we employ to mitigate stress and encourage healthy behaviors. We engage individuals in shared spaces through their journeys of growth, self-exploration, managing stress, coping with uncomfortable emotions, and ultimately, toward resilience. Combining art-making with safe, nonjudgmental support and encouragement facilitates creative expression, builds connection, and gives people a powerful window through which they can communicate their emotions, their dreams, their needs, and other issues present in their lives. The benefits of our program include: (1) Encourage Self-Exploration & Build Self-Confidence; (2) Create Avenues for Hope & Healing in Learning Coping Skills; (3) Create Community & Foster Connection; (4) Bolster Empathy Skills for Self & Others; and (5) Support Positive Mental Health & Overall Wellness.
About This Cause
Art Impact Project is a 501c(3) established in 2014 with the purpose of using the healing power of art-making to help adolescents in drug & alcohol treatment. Our Founder's teenage son was in need of support, and it was clear that words alone were not enough to help. The mission quickly broadened its reach to encompass adults as well as teens, with a strong emphasis on supporting mental, emotional, and behavioral health, particularly among historically marginalized and underserved populations. Through our partnerships with schools, drug and alcohol treatment programs, libraries, and many more community service spaces, we offer over 100 specifically designed projects with clear objectives—such as increasing positive self-awareness, building confidence, and promoting empathy for others. In 2023 alone, we served over 1,500 teens and more than 200 adults. The benefits of our program include: (1) Encourage Self-Exploration & Build Self-Confidence; (2) Create Avenues for Hope & Healing in Learning Coping Skills; (3) Create Community & Foster Connection; (4) Bolster Empathy Skills for Self & Others; and (5) Support Positive Mental Health & Overall Wellness.
