Mission Statement
Femergy® is a non-profit organization that provides girls and women with the resources, tools, and skills they need to combat and overcome gender barriers in public and private spheres. Our holistic programs enhance girls and women in the areas of Education, Leadership, Health, and Wellness by encouraging them to explore and celebrate their strengths, their voices, who they are today, and who they will become in the future.
About This Cause
Femergy® is a growing agency of girls and women empowering each other to become leaders in their schools, workplaces, and families. Femergy® started with and still centers around adolescent girls. The first program Femergy® introduced, Girls Heart Reading Ohio (GHRO), has blossomed from seven students to hundreds of young girls looking for mentorship and development in their lives. GHRO is an enrichment program for middle and high school girls ages 12-18. Each participant is matched with a mentor to help them navigate their academic lives, learn life skills and social competencies, and provide social and emotional support. Program participants also attend workshops and training courses monthly. Femergy® also hosts Chica Sports and Fitness (CS&F), a health and wellness, leadership, and life skills program for girls ages 12-18. Participants experience community mini clinics, including fitness, nutrition, wellness education, goal setting, stress management, leadership development, team building, service learning, and positive body image. CS&F promotes healthy lifestyle choices and equips girls to navigate their own health throughout life. For entry-level professional women ages 21-40, Femergy® hosts The Enrichment Institute for Women (EIW). Participants attend 13 program sessions by expert facilitators focused in the core areas of career, finance, leadership, and wellness. EIW helps women create a life centered not only on pay equity, self-advocacy, and leadership opportunities, but on the debilitating effect the gender lens has on all women. Our final program, Femergy® Gives Back, is a service-learning and leadership program for girls, women, and families looking to create a positive impact in our communities and give back to our neighbors in need. Our programming guides participants through overcoming these financial, educational, and social barriers while advocating for the necessity of gender equity and equal representation.
