Mission Statement
The Mission of MoPRIDE, Inc. is to act as a catalyst for building and celebrating the strength, dignity, self-determination and equality of the LGBT community in Modesto and the surrounding area. MoPRIDE, Inc. seeks to affirm LGBT individuals in their lives and identities by providing leadership, education, peer support, outreach (particularly to youth), community development, visibility and advocacy, including educating the public in tolerance and respect for all people within the LGBT community, and other activities associated with this goal as allowed by law.
About This Cause
The Central Valley Pride Center is MoPRIDE, Inc.’s primary vehicle for providing programs that focus on peer-support groups, civil rights advocacy, leadership building, LGBTQ equality rights, suicide prevention information, transgender rights as well as referrals to mental health, substance abuse and health providers within Stanislaus County and beyond. The goal of MoPride, Inc. and the Central Valley Pride Center is to bring people together to celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ movement, to remember our history, and to raise awareness of the work that still needs to be done. Our belief is that if there is an understanding of our community, then inevitably, tolerance and eventually acceptance can happen. We provide support, resources and groups for community members, families, allies, and anyone interested in learning more about the LGBTQ+ community.
