Mission Statement
The Brewhaus Bakery (DBA Brewhaus Dog Bones, Brewhaus Bakery & Dog Bones) is a 501c3 non-profit bakery organization dedicated to providing vocational training and paid employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We make healthy, handcrafted, all natural dog treats from locally sourced craft beer grains (malted barley). Our unique bake space helps build community and confidence for adults with disabilities who face many obstacles to traditional employment.
About This Cause
The Brewhaus Bakery: Brewhaus Dog Bones seeks to be an innovator in the world of education, training and employment for individuals living with disability and a catalyst for both personal and community impact and change. We make craft beer dog treats! The Brewhaus Bakery Co. is a 501(c)3 non profit organization, EIN 47-1534402, dedicated to providing fun, meaningful, project based learning, vocational training & work skill development and paid employment for young adults with disabilities who have deferred high school diplomas until age 22, as well as those individuals who have graduated and need jobs. The Brewhaus Bakery provides a real world -start to finish- non profit business model, Brewhaus Dog Bones, to help participants learn valuable work and life skills, adding to the likelihood of securing integrated, fulfilling, community based employment. Brewhaus Dog Bones are handcrafted, small batch, oven baked dog treats made from spent brewery grains (malted barley) proudly sourced from local partner craft breweries. Typically these grains are considered a waste product of brewing beer but can be upcycled into a tasty dog treat! The spent grains retain 80% of their nutritional value as only the sugars are harvested from the grains to make beer. Brewhaus integrates both personal and community interests, culture, and offers a unique opportunity in the craft beer industry here in Cincinnati for a diverse population seeking additional opportunities for vocational training, skill advancement and employment. We have both wholesale and retail programs and encourage participation at every level! We also use our space for monthly social gatherings with cooking classes, crafts, games and other enrichment activities! Additionally, we welcome volunteers and provide team building experiences within our space with our baking team!
