Mission Statement
We are a non-profit organization run fully on a volunteer basis supported by donations from our contributors who we lovingly refer to as our village members. Our connection is strong as we bond together to make a “pawsitive” impact on the world, one dog at a time. Without our gracious donors, incredible foster homes and countless volunteers, this simply would not be possible. For that we are grateful, but the dogs are the real winners as we turn their fate into something different than it was the day we took them in our care. They matter to our village and we at Dog Ranch Rescue are honored to do amazing work funded by amazing people.
About This Cause
How We Started the Rescue and our Mission The heart leads one to rescue work. The Eden family is no exception. As they ran their dog boarding facility, Lone Star Dog Ranch (LSDR), they helped several rescue operations obtain and rehabilitate dogs in need. They realized fostering dogs on their property created a special opportunity for the rehabilitation of rescues. They also realized they could help more dogs if they established their own rescue organization – and Dog Ranch Rescue (DRR) was born. Rescued dogs, many from horrific conditions in puppy mills, receive needed medical care, rehabilitation, social skills and love from the Edens. When they are ready, they are allowed to socialize with the canine guests boarded at LSDR and that’s where the real magic happens! Dogs with no socialization skills, fear of humans and sometimes other dogs, learn to be what they were meant to be – dogs. They learn to play, to trust, to love. This amazing transformation is captured in photographs for LSDR Facebook fans and it is truly amazing to watch! Lone Star Dog Ranch and Dog Ranch Rescue are separate entities. LSDR is a highly successful boarding facility owned and operated by the Eden family. DRR is a dog rescue organization also run by the Edens. No money is shared between the two as DRR is 100% volunteer based a non-profit 501(c)(3) status approved by the IRS. LSDR and DRR operate on the same property and dogs in both receive the benefit of the Eden care, expertise and love. It’s a win-win. This merge provides rescued dogs a rehabilitation experience that is unique and very successful in preparing them for their forever homes.
