Mission Statement

At Self-eSTEM, our mission is to ignite pride, purpose, and possibility among Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) girls and women through STEM and entreneurship.

About This Cause

Self-eSTEM's EARLY STEM IMMERSION PROGRAM: provides BIPOC girls (ages 7 to 17) a year-long learning journey, aiming to empower our Innovators through training, mentorship and network opportunities. Goals: To equip our Innovators with mid-level and advanced technical skills, and to develop transferable career readiness skills to be prepared for the Future of Work. Program Delivery: Our program consists of a combination of weekly/monthly STEM engagement workshops during the school year, which include robotics team competitions, and an intensive one-week summer STEM camp. Through our STEM Exploration Camp, Robotics teams and STEM Engagement activities, Self-eSTEM unlocks Innovators' STEM career identities by normalizing BIPOC girls’ brilliance and self-esteem through STEM. Self-eSTEM's EMERGING LEADER PROGRAM (in-development): provide BIPOC women (ages 18 to 25) career and professional development events, to continue to empower our Innovators through training, mentorship and network opportunities. Goal: To place untapped talent in STEM business and industry and to prepare Innovators for corporate and economic leadership. Program Delivery: Through community-building events and services offerings for network members, Self-eSTEM equips BIPOC women with confidence, knowledge & resources to thrive and remain within the STEM pipeline.
