Mission Statement
Cape Wellness Collaborative offers free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies and support for anyone in our community facing cancer.
About This Cause
Approximately 2,198 people are diagnosed with cancer each year on Cape Cod. Many of them will seek integrative therapies to manage pain and nausea, reduce anxiety, and increase well-being during their illness. But most of these therapies – acupuncture, massage, energy work, yoga, nutritional counseling, and more — are not covered by insurance. As such, even those able to try integrative therapies may not have the opportunity to continue. Inspired to make a difference in her community after losing her mother to ovarian cancer, local musician Sarah Swain created the Cape Cod Women’s Music Festival in 2012. In 2014, Sarah founded the Cape Wellness Collaborative, which works with a team of outstanding local wellness professionals to provide free-of-charge integrative therapies to those facing cancer on Cape Cod and the Islands.
