About This Cause
In just three short years, Austin Theatre Project has become one of the most talked-about theatre companies in Central Texas. We have been able to attract the top actors, directors, musicians, and designers to our productions and the results have been wonderful for all! In our second year (and our first full season of shows) ATP surprised the theatre community by walking away with the B. Iden Payne Award for Best Musical (Avenue Q). A short time later, the Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Awards also named Avenue Q as their choice for best musical, David Blackburn was named Outstanding Music Director (Edges), and the icing on the cake was being named the Outstanding Theatre Company in Austin! The 2014 CTET Awards brought a Best Actress award to Audrey Johnson (Carrie) and a Best Supporting Actress award to Cathie Sheridan (Carrie)
