Mission Statement
JOPP brings performing arts and performing artists to public schools in California and gives public school students opportunities for direct participation in creative dance, drama and movement programs and activities. JOPP also involves students in the production of original theatre works JOPP, its performers and students put on. In 2016, JOPP served over 1000 students in the Bay Area public schools, as well as students in other California areas.
About This Cause
JOPP has a Mission statement and Vision statement (also found on its website www.JOPProject.org) that help explain the core competencies and focus of the group. The OUTREACH component of JOPP is integral to all its work, whether the performers are designing curriculum or a course directly for a particular class of 5 th graders; working with the arts students in a high school to help design and put a dramatic production on its feet; or performing one of JOPP’s original works for students and giving them an opportunity to discuss the work and what it means to them. Mission statement The mission of the Joe Orrach Performance Project, a 501(c) (3), is to incubate, develop, and present new performing arts projects for diverse theater audiences. Movement and rhythm are at the core of our storytelling and help us to open the world of performance to others. Vision statement: We believe that the power of performance arises from the bravery, vulnerability, and joy of people sharing the stories that shape who they are. The Joe Orrach Performance Project is committed to storytelling through the most human of resources: the body in movement, rhythm, and language. Our activities are based in collaboration, inclusiveness, and engagement among our audiences and ourselves. We want to inspire others to express themselves confidently, constructively, and creatively.
