About This Cause
Lu’s Labs is a volunteer driven non-profit 501(c)3 approved organization that rescues, vets, and places abandoned Labrador Retrievers and Labrador Retriever mixes into approved, loving homes. Lu’s Labs primarily rescues from southern shelters and beyond and transports them to foster homes within the greater Washington DC area. It is from these foster homes that the rescues will be adopted within a 5-hour driving distance of Alexandria, Virginia. In the year of inception, 2015, 150 labs and lab mixes were saved with 128 being adopted out into fully vetted, loving homes. So far in 2016 over 150 labs and lab mixes have been rescued with growth on track to meet our goal of saving in excess of 200 in 2016. With the help of 50+ volunteers and generous donors and partners we can continue to meet growth objectives of saving more and more labs and lab mixes.
