Mission Statement

The mission of Connor’s Climb Foundation is to provide suicide prevention education by raising awareness, reducing stigma, and equipping youth, educators, and the community at large with tools and resources focused on the vulnerable age group of 10-24 year-olds to New Hampshire and bordering communities.

About This Cause

In the aftermath of a suicide, family, friends, and communities respond in different ways. When Connor Ball died by suicide in October of 2011, his family and friends decided that no one else should experience such a profound and life-altering loss. The Connor’s Climb Foundation (CCF) is the result of their love for Connor and their commitment to ending youth suicide. Connor’s Climb Foundation is dedicated to ending youth suicide in New Hampshire, where it is the second leading cause of death for those between the ages of 10 and 24. Suicide is preventable when students and educators have the training, tools, and resources to intervene and assist when a young person is struggling. Mission To provide suicide prevention education to New Hampshire youth and the community. Vision To provide suicide prevention education to youth and families. Values Integration. Integrate evidence-based suicide prevention education and awareness programming into NH schools. Support. Empower the community to be a resource for all youth by providing education on the signs and risk factors of suicide. Stigma Reduction. Create a safe and supportive environment for all youth by ensuring open communication and lessening the stigma of mental health issues. Connor’s Climb Foundation has brought evidence-based suicide education and prevention to over 30,000 NH youth at more than 90 schools. However, there is still work to be done. There are more youth still to reach, and you can make that happen.Every NH youth, and every educator, needs to be equipped with the tools and the resources to help when someone is struggling. Connor’s Climb Foundation works to raise awareness and provide education for youth suicide prevention in New Hampshire by collaborating with teachers and schools, the public, and mental health professionals to ensure that the young people of New Hampshire have the life-saving resources needed to prevent suicide. Connor’s Climb Foundation promotes awareness and understanding that suicide is preventable. We work to increase knowledge about the warning signs of suicide and indicators of emotional distress in our youth. Through the implementation of suicide education programs in New Hampshire schools, Connor’s Climb Foundation helps educators and students foster help-seeking behaviors so that our youth in need of supportive services either reach out for them or get referred to them by a peer, coach, teacher or any other person in their community. Connor’s Climb Foundation believes that comprehensive approaches to suicide prevention can save lives. Our goal is to ensure that the youth of New Hampshire do not reach the point of crisis. Instead, they will know the warning signs of suicide, and they will know what to do when they see those signs in themselves or someone else. Connor’s Climb Foundation envisions a comprehensive, community-based approach to suicide prevention. We believe that it is the responsibility of everyone to play a role in the protection of all our youth. Connor’s Climb Foundation is able to accomplish the work of educating communities in New Hampshire about youth suicide through a grass-roots effort. One of these efforts is made possible by a group of individuals who are passionate about Connor’s Climb Foundation’s mission to save young lives. These selfless individuals give of their time and talent by volunteering on our board and also supporting our flagship event, the annual Connor’s Climb 5K & Family Walk. Connor’s Climb Foundation has hosted dozens of trainings for more than 200 New Hampshire educators and community organization leaders. Connor’s Climb Foundation has provided the “Signs of Suicide” (SOS) educational program to over 75 New Hampshire schools. Connor’s Climb Foundation is making a difference and is saving lives. The founders and directors of Connor’s Climb Foundation are committed to running a nonprofit public charity that will always remain true to its core values and mission statement.
