Mission Statement

The Official Committee of French-American Organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in San Francisco in 1914. Since 2017, under the patronage of the Consulate General of France and with the support of the City of San Francisco, we celebrate Bastille Day with an all-day event of live music, dancing, food, beer & wine and several French cultural activities The celebration takes place at Embarcadero Plaza in San Francisco.

About This Cause

Bastille Day is a fun and festive day of French food, wine, culture, and entertainment. It has been San Francisco’s largest public celebration of France’s National Day and its historic friendship with the United States. With an abundance of French cuisine, musique, dance, and a myriad of attractions for the whole family, this “fête populaire” invites San Franciscans to revel in the flavors, sounds, and “joie de vivre” of France!
