Remembering Black Dallas is a non-Profit organization that preserves and promotes the African-American life, history, artifacts, heritage and culture of Dallas in collaboration with its surrounding cities.

About This Cause

Remembering Black Dallas is the homeplace that embodies all aspects of Dallas' African-American heritage, culture, and history. RBDallas actively promotes, educate, document, and preserve the culture and heritage of Dallas's African-American culture. RBDallas uses many forms of preservation and teaching the history of Dallas. Through the performing arts, research, presentations, ongoing research, oral history, documentation, and local tours, we are able to creatively make Dallas's history come alive with relevance. Our organization has become a living component in the city of Dallas consistently applying and aligning history and culture while simultaneously connecting to its modern-day communities. RBDallas is also the umbrella of the Dallas County Justice Initiative Coalition which collaborates, advocates and educates the communities on racial justice and injustices in the county of Dallas. Remembering Black Dallas Dallas and the DallasCJIC collaborate programs and projects with many like organizations across all ethnic groups and racial lines.
