Mission Statement

Preserving the forest and its wisdom, by empowering the world’s Indigenous, through a celebration of culture.

About This Cause

Indigenous Celebration is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization currently serving 21 tribes in the Amazon with a mission to preserve the forest and it’s wisdom by empowering the world’s indigenous through a celebration of their culture. IC has worked with the Yawanawá tribe in the Brazilian Amazon of Acre since 2015 on community building and cultural preservation projects including the Nipei: Garden of Medicines, Aquiculture Fish Pond, Food Security Program, and the construction of Mutum Village Social Projects including the 3-story apuí tree house and community center. IC also produced an unprecedented 5-city tour (the Encounter Tour) across the US in 2016 for 7 Yawanawá members to share ancient music, culture and spirituality through a variety of interactive events. IC coordinates annual retreats to Mutum Village and is the largest platform for the sale of Yawanawá crafts through its partnership with the Women’s Cooperative. In 2018, IC expanded its women’s empowerment initiative to include 21 tribes under its Warrior Women Connect program.
