Providers: Because TBM is such an under-diagnosed disease, CureTBM educates providers to help spread awareness about TBM symptoms, diagnosis methods, Since receiving life-saving care after years of being told she was rare and there were no others like her, she formed The Tracheo-Broncho-Malacia Airway Foundation. DBA Cure TBM. Since the onset, she has helped hundreds of patients adults, children and newborns receive the life-saving care they need. We help educate the parents and patients about TBM, about treatment options and empower them with the tools they need to make the right choice for their care. We have given grants to the top researchers in this disease. We are currently trying to fund a project that will bring top care for both babies and adults from all over the world via a virtual clinic. When patients have a rare disease, universally, one of the greatest problems they face is receiving top expert medical care by physicians who understand their disease. We at Cure TBM, along with the TBM program at BIDMC, have a tangible solution to help alleviate this terrible burden to all TBM Patients and potentially others suffering in the rare disease community. The TBM Center in Boston has developed and is getting ready to launch a Virtual Clinic. Through the Virtual Clinic, patients from all around the United States, as well as other countries, will have the availability to have a face-to-face video conference consult with the top experts and world leaders in Tracheobronchomalacia. It is very hard for patients to travel to Boston due to financial and physical constraints. We have a solution to this. We are encouraged to partner with Apple as they help us connect the world to these specialists via a virtual clinic. Cure TBM also gives tangible help to patients who are unable to afford to travel by donating airline mileage, as well as food and gas cards.
