Mission Statement
Texas Chihuahua Rescue (TXCR) is comprised of passionate individuals, dedicated to saving the lives of the second most euthanized dog breed in Texas. We strive to educate our community, assist our shelters, and continue to grow our organization. TXCR is here to help small dogs live big dreams
About This Cause
Texas Chihuahua Rescue strives to get small dog breeds off the streets and out of the shelter. Not only do we rescue but we educate. TXCR is a vital part of our community. San Antonio is a city of 1.7 million in population and Chihuahuas are the most euthanized breed here in south Texas and the second most euthanized breed in America. Not only do we foster and save lives but we educate the community about adopting, going to spay and neuter clinics, the ugly side of back yard breeding and we also teach a lot about the breed itself. We are aiming to make our community a better place. Texas Chihuahua Rescue is committed to saving as many Chihuahuas and small breed dogs as we financially can in 2020. We have set a budget and a goal to help 850 dogs out of shelters and off the streets which would grow our intake rate by almost 25%. We have realized our 2019 goal of a second kennel building and space for us to grow with the purchase of our 5 acre Chihuahua Ranchette. 2020's goal is a senior living center where the seniors we take in that are too aged to be adopted, can live out their days in comfort and style.
