Mission Statement
Established in 2015, The Animation Show of Shows, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization EIN 47-4144203 dedicated to: The restoration and preservation of important animated short films; the ongoing identification of the world’s finest examples of animated short films; and screenings to inspire and foster an appreciation for the films both with the public and with animation students and professionals. For 19 years, the ANIMATION SHOW OF SHOWS has been presenting new and innovative short films to appreciative audiences at animation studios, schools and, since 2015, theaters around the world. Over the years, 36 of the films showcased in the ANIMATION SHOW OF SHOWS went on to receive Academy Award® nominations, with 10 films winning the Oscar®. Founded and curated by producer Ron Diamond, the ANIMATION SHOW OF SHOWS is funded by major studios, companies, schools and hundreds of animation lovers around the world.
About This Cause
Each year through 2015, the Animation Show of Shows has been presented annually for 16 years to animation students and professionals from the top studios. It’s an opportunity to share the newest exemplary work of our industry’s leading artists, animating filmmakers, creative and burgeoning new talents. It challenges countless animators to elevate their work and inspire them to undertake creative and evocative narrative storytelling. For the first time ever the 17th Annual Animation Show of Shows and more recently The 19th Annual Animation Show of Shows has had the opportunity to play publicly in cinemas across the US, Canada and around the world to entertain and inspire audiences of all ages. We are committed to bringing awareness of animated short films to the public. Established in 2015, The Animation Show of Shows, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization EIN 47-4144203 dedicated to: The restoration and preservation of important animated short films; the ongoing identification of the world’s finest examples of animated short films; and screenings to inspire and foster an appreciation for the films both with the public and with animation students and professionals. This will immediately create new funding opportunities, and allow us to apply for foundation and private grants that are available only to non-profit corporations. The Animation Show of Shows successfully completed it's third fundraising campaign through Kickstarter and the generous outpouring of support from over 550 backers worldwide. Prior to 2015, Ron Diamond's Acme Filmworks, Inc. had been underwriting about two-thirds of the costs for the identifying, curating, preparing, scheduling and presenting the Annual Animation Show of Shows. Historically honorariums from schools and generous support from the major animation studios: Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Google ATAP, Illumination Entertainment, Paramount Pictures Animation, DreamWorks Animation, 20th Century Fox Animation, Blue Sky Studios, Laika, Sony Pictures Animation, Walt Disney Television, and Walt Disney Toon Studios supported a portion of the operating expense.
