FoodRecovery.org, formerly known as MEANS Database, is a platform that connects organizations with surplus food to communities in need, championing sustainability by diverting edible food away from landfills. All for free.
About This Cause
FoodRecovery.org is a food rescue and redistribution nonprofit that is rapidly expanding and growing programs in all 50 states and DC, reaching new communities and strengthening our food recovery work in current areas. We work with nationwide corporations and institutions to move donations ranging from events left overs, one pallet of dry pasta to 43,000 lbs of canned food to organizations serving families and individuals facing food insecurity. In 2023, we recovered 52 million pounds of food nationwide and are looking to double this impact in 2024.
