Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide safe, loving, and healthy foster care for captive parrots that have been surrendered through no fault of their own, or are in need of a new home due to neglect or abandonment. We are dedicated to rescuing these remarkable birds and working tirelessly to find them permanent, forever families where they can thrive. Through education, compassion, and commitment, we aim to improve the lives of parrots in our care and raise awareness about the needs of these extraordinary animals.
About This Cause
SouthWest Exotic Avian Rescue (SWEAR) is a 501(c)(3) IRS tax-exempt nonprofit organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Operated entirely by volunteers, SWEAR is dedicated to the well-being and care of the parrots in our program. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, every dollar and resource we receive goes directly to supporting the birds—ensuring they receive the love, attention, and care they deserve. Parrots are remarkable animals with lifespans that can rival those of their human families with proper care, making them, in many cases, a lifelong commitment. Whether they have been abandoned, surrendered, or are simply in need of a new home, we provide safe, compassionate foster care and work to find them permanent, loving adoption placements. We are committed to giving these birds the best possible future, where they can live out their long lives in a stable, healthy, and caring environment. We rely entirely on the generous donations and hard work of our amazing supporters and volunteers. SWEAR’s primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome parrots, ensuring they find families who can care for them long-term. Join us in making a lasting difference in the lives of these extraordinary birds. Your support is vital to our mission, and we, along with the parrots, are deeply grateful for your generosity.
