Mission Statement

A Veteran founded Veteran Service Organization, Operation Overwatch rescues dogs and trains them to be Service Dogs for Veterans and First Responders needing help mitigating the effects of PTSD/TBI and mobility assistance needs.

About This Cause

Operation Overwatch was founded by three Military Working Dog Kennelmasters, a Police K9 Handler and an Equestrian Expert. Our goal is to make a significant difference in the fight to treat and cure PTSD and in mitigating the effects of TBI and mobility assistance needs. In short, if every organization that is providing a similar service were to band together on this, we would still be short THOUSANDS of dogs for what is needed. Almost every organization puts out 12-24 "teams" a year, while a select few have figured out how to put out hundreds without loss of quality! Our group was founded by and is run by experts in the field of canine training and utilization in some of the most extreme situations. We know dogs! We have developed rehabilitation protocols from some of the leaders in the health and recovery fields to create a program that not only puts dogs and people together, but gives each the tools, knowledge and confidence to succeed on their path to personal recovery and enrichment. Another secret to our success is our 11 point selection process that identifies dogs that are ready and capable of going to work right away, minimizing training times and issues and pairing them up with a warrior and out in the field in a reasonable time. We do not have waiting lists that people wait on for years. We now have a program that not only focuses on veterans and first responders, but also allows anyone to donate incrementally to support this mission. We call this initiative PAWS22. Donors can set up one-time or recurring payments in whatever amount they see fit and know that 100% of the proceeds go to rescuing and training dogs and pairing them with their new partner. We also have a program that allows local veterans to get their dog, training and equipment at no cost! Between this and the PAWS22 campaign, we are able to train literally hundreds of dogs each year! Operation Overwatch is a destination of healing, happiness and camaraderie. Our local group classes are fun, educational and empowering. If you cannot donate, please share this with your friends! We are going to make a difference with your help!"
