About This Cause
Wilderness Camp is a place where everyone is welcome. Getting outdoors is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. Our physical wellness improves being outside. Green spaces support an active and healthy lifestyle, which has shown to increase life expectancy, improve sleep quality and improve overall health. Our Mental wellness improves being outside. There are many mental wellness benefits associated with being outside in green spaces, such as lower risk of depression and faster psychological stress recovery. Studies have shown that being in nature can restore and strengthen our mental capacities, increasing focus and attention. Another major component of mental health is social connection. Wilderness Camp serves as a venue to come together with friends and family and connect with the larger community. Wilderness serves medical camps for kids with disabilities and chronic illnesses, Church Camps, Girl Scouts Boy Scouts and many more. Wilderness is dedicated to a child's personal growth and committed to the development of crucial skills through arts, athletics, and outdoor adventure, which result in teamwork, challenge, and responsible risk taking. We also come complete with miles of in the woods trails with natural play areas to cultivate young and experienced alike. Wilderness CRC provides children the opportunity to achieve, whether catching fish for the first time or stomping in a creek. Together we help kids become there best self. Wilderness CRC provides summer camp opportunities for children and youth and is available to groups of all sizes for seasonal camping, retreats, vacations, family reunions, weddings, memorial services, community service, mission trips and recreational activities. Located near Lawson, Missouri, on 320 acres of beautiful trees, trails, and fields, Wilderness CRC provides year-round accommodations with kitchen facilities, large and small group meeting spaces, fire rings, shelters and campground settings. We offer facilities to accommodate all groups with an emphasis on hospitality, comfort, natural settings, and spiritual renewal.
