Mission Statement
Our mission is to bridge the financial gap for immigrant youth persuing higher education.
About This Cause
Do you believe that all students regardless of legal status should have the same opportunity to pursue the “American Dream” like everyone else? WE DO. That’s why we created Dreamers Roadmap the first mobile platform of its kind that connects undocumented students (DREAMers) with scholarships for higher education. This unique nonprofit app is the brainchild of a Silicon Valley Dreamer whose dream of pursuing a college education was almost derailed when she found out in high school that she was undocumented. Dreamers Roadmap celebrates equal access to education by bringing these opportunities to the user's fingertips. Many undocumented students overcome obstacles related to poverty, literacy, transportation, or homework assistance only to discover in the last years in high school they do not have lawful legal status and therefore don’t qualify for financial aid from the government or most scholarships. The Dreamers Roadmap App opens that door, providing hope and opportunity for these students to continue their education and realize their full potential as productive and contributing members of the US society. Each year, approximately 65,000 undocumented students graduate from high school in the US. Dreamers Roadmap gives them immediate access to information about scholarships based on merit, not immigration status. Users can tailor their search by college, by region, or by the amount and links them directly to the information they need. The App is not just designed for these students but also for teachers, counselors, or other community members who want to help them get to college. Dreamers Roadmap went live on the App Store and on Google Play in April 2016. We currently have close to 30,000 users. Join us in building bridges, not walls.
