About This Cause
MeWater foundation is a non profit 501C3, based in San Francisco. Mewater Foundation was founded by Eddie Donnellan and Tim Gras, mental health professionals and lifelong surfers, watermen and outdoor enthusiasts. the goal of MeWater foundation is to expose youth and families to the benefits of surfing and environmental awareness. Our participants come from trauma impacted areas of San Francisco, and the majority have never been to the beach, let alone surfing. We approach our experience through a lens of mindfulness, joy and safety. MeWater Foundation is a donation driven foundation, with a strong local volunteer base of local surfers, mental health professionals, as well as "youth stoking youth" volunteer model, where community teenage youth will mentor our participants. We are seeking support to expand our program to serve as many youth and families as possible, so as to help these youth and families enjoy an experince that they likely otherwise would never have the opportunity.
