Mission Statement
The purpose of Fat Knight Theatre Inc. is to create, discover and rediscover great characters in drama, history, literature and modern mythology. As Neil Simon says “Plays are about people”, and our goal is to focus on breathing life into the larger-than-life characters that people humanity, and celebrate and communicate, through theatre and other media, the potential in each of us.
About This Cause
It's about character. Fat Knight Theatre seeks to create plays about facinating, great characters and about people of character. We hope to continue to develop and present exciting new readings and productions from new and established playwrights. We strive to be an organization of character in the way we conduct ourselves and in the pieces we choose to present. We are a not-for-profit organization based in New York City and often partner with other not-for-profit groups with their own great causes giving a portion of the proceeds from our performances to benefit them. So far we have won top awards from The New York Fringe Festival (2016 Overall Excellence Award for Ensemble) & SheNYC ( 2017 Best Production, Best Direction, Best Actress). And we have partnered with "Let's Send These Kids To School" and "Young Audiences -Arts for Learning". We are looking to expand to embrace virtual media platforms for our productions as well as continuing to present live performances.
