About This Cause
Welcome to Our Hope, a transformative nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the African immigrant and refugee community in King County. Born from the merger of two impactful entities—Hope Academy and Education For All—Our Hope represents the strength and potential of collective effort. Together, we provide holistic support and comprehensive services to meet the evolving needs of our community. For over two decades, Hope Academy has delivered alternative education to underprivileged children, while Education For All has addressed the academic and social needs of East African immigrants and their families. Our merger combines these strengths, allowing us to expand our impact through wrap-around programs that empower individuals and families alike. What makes Our Hope unique is our leadership’s deep connection to the community we serve. Many of our leaders were once beneficiaries of our programs, giving them unparalleled insight into the needs and priorities of those we support. This shared experience fosters trust and a vision deeply rooted in unity, inclusion, and progress. Looking ahead, we are embarking on ambitious redevelopment plans to enhance our capacity and introduce new initiatives, creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where growth and learning thrive.
