Mission Statement
The Arc of Sedgwick County makes a difference in the lives of individuals and families living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For 60 years, The Arc has promoted their general welfare, fostered the development of programs on their behalf and increased the public’s awareness and acceptance.
About This Cause
The Arc of Sedgwick County is a nonprofit organization that began in 1953 in a grassroots effort by parents concerned about services and future opportunities for their children and the families and children of tomorrow. They had a vision for community based services. They thrived off of teamwork as they collaborated with and supported each other. The future generations have benefited from their passion and advocacy to achieve a better life for their kids and a better community to provide opportunities.
