Mission Statement

To provide professionally trained guide, service, and facility dogs for people in need of a canine partner to enhance their independence, to fully function in society, and/or to enrich their professional career responsibilities with the ongoing support of our trainers to ensure proficient working partnerships.

About This Cause

KSDS Assistance Dogs is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that promotes the independence and inclusion of people with disabilities as fully participating members of their communities and society. This is accomplished by way of a unique canine assistance who has been raised and trained by KSDS, Inc. Guide dogs are trained to provide mobility assistance to a visually impaired person. Service dogs are trained to assist a physically impaired person with day-to-day tasks. A facility dog is trained to work with a professional in the field of education, counseling, medicine, rehabilitation, retirement and/or other specialty agencies. KSDS serves the entire United States and has placed assistance teams in over 32 states with puppy raisers in more than 16 states. The cost of an assistance dog team is approximately $25,000. KSDS provides the dog to the individual at no cost due to its benefactors and nonprofit status. KSDS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International, the organization setting the standards for assistance dogs.
