Mission Statement
To promote kindness to animals, prevent cruelty to animals, the extension of humane education, the encouragement of spay/neuter programs among individual pet owners and animal shelters, and the encouragement or programs designed to adopt approved animals held at approved animal shelters to the public.
About This Cause
Heart of America Humane Society is a 100% volunteer organization working to find good homes for animals. We do not have a shelter of our own but we work with the Lees Summit Municipal Animal Shelter in Lees Summit MO and the KCK Animal Shelter in Kansas City, Kansas. During 2022, we expanded and added an Outreach Team to assist animals in our community that are in need of basic needs such as food & litter. Also, we have added a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) Team to work on controlling the community cat population in the Greater Kansas City Area.
