Mission Statement
Every Veteran, regardless of service, age, gender, creed, or need, is Welcome at the St. Cloud StandDown. We serve ALL VETERANS in need, at risk, or homeless. We Empower, Encourage, Mentor & provide services to all Lady Veterans. VETERANS HELPING VETERANS, BOOTS ON THE GROUND & MISSION READY FOR LIFE.
About This Cause
Definition of STANDDOWN: a military term for relaxation of status; a temporary cessation of offensive actions; cease-fire; truce. StandDown is modeled after a practice from the Vietnam War, where battle weary soldiers were given the opportunity to renew their spirit, health, and sense of well-being. St. Cloud StandDown brings a wide range of supportive services to one location, accessible to all Veterans. The St. Cloud StandDown consists of multiple operations, all providing complimentary resources and services to Veterans in Minnesota & surrounding area. 1) StandDown Warehouse 2) Lady Veterans Boutique 3) Clifford Beck Veteran Resource Center 4) Gentlemen’s Quarters Barbershop |Free Veteran haircuts, 1st Thursday, walk-in A private non-profit 501(c)(3) Veteran organization who serves Veterans in need, at risk, or homeless. Administered by a Board of Directors of Veterans and community representatives. Staffed entirely by Veterans and Volunteers who donate their time. Assists male and female Veterans with merchandise free of charge. | Food, clothing, accessories, footwear, job connections, housing information, resources, legal and counseling services. Operates a warehouse with surplus clothing, civilian clothes, new shoes, boots. Hosts semi-annual StandDown and Veterans Job Fair the last Friday of April and October Has given over 16 million dollars worth of clothing and supplies to Veterans. Our goal is to be the resource you need. The VA can heal you, but we can get your boots on the ground afterward. Whether you need: military surplus gear dry socks clothing a pair of boots a warm shower a hot meal advice on where to find work a path to an apartment or homeownership mentoring legal assistance meeting space haircut basic nail care, or camaraderie We’re your first stop.
