Mission Statement

Our Mission: The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona responds to the root causes of hunger and seeks to restore dignity, health, opportunity and hope to people living in poverty. Our mission is to change lives in the communities we serve by feeding the hungry today, and building a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow.

About This Cause

Founded in 1976, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona strives to create a healthy, hunger-free future. Through emergency food assistance program, CFB provides food and educational resources to more than 250,000 people across 23,106 square miles and five counties. It also partners with more than 350 agencies, allowing for more efficient service to people in neighborhood centers and rural areas. A member of Feeding America, awarded Food Bank of The Year in 2018, CFB reduces reliance on emergency food through gardening programming, supporting small-scale local farmers and local food production, education about healthful eating to ease diet-related illness, and more. In addition, CFB prepares healthful meals for homebound seniors and people experiencing homelessness in our commercial kitchen and offers a culinary training program preparing unemployed individuals for careers in the culinary arts.
