Mission Statement
The Gaskov Clergé Foundation (GCF) is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization established to promote health, sports, education and sciences in both the United States and Haiti. GCF is committed to empowering individuals and will carry out its mission by: Establishing both domestic and international programs/scholarship funds that assist deserving individuals who are pursuing academic excellence in the sciences. Developing resources for preventive health care in Haiti that encourage the philanthropic participation of physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals, along with the corporate community. About This Cause
The Gaskov Clergé Foundation (GCF) is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization established to promote health, sports, education and sciences in both the United States and Haiti.GCF is committed to empowering one individual at a time. Founded as a 501(c)3 organization in 1999, GCF is led by a volunteer Board of professionals in the Diaspora. The organization has built a solid track record of serving vulnerable communities in Haiti in the following areas: Health: GCF provides quality health care and access to education to under-privileged populations in southern Haiti. Since it’s inception, GCF has completed close to 90K patient encounters through its well organized medical missions and its newly established medical center Klinik Fonfred, a fully equipped medical facility located in Fonfred, a rural community near Les Cayes. Klinik Fonfred is opened 6 days a week and offers Pediatric, Internal Medicine, Dental, Lab, X-Rays nearly free of charge to the vulnerable communities in Haiti. To date, Gaskov Clergé Foundation, with the active participation of the Diaspora, has funded over $1.2M in health care projects, including the medical center. Education & Sports: The foundation has provided over 1,650 scholarships to deserving students. Past scholarship recipients are graduating as Lawyers, nurses, engineers and doctors. In addition, GCF funds sports tournaments that offer a positive outlets for the youth of the South of Haiti. Since 1999, the foundation, with the support of the diaspora, has invested over $130K in scholarships and sports tournaments that have positively impacted close to 3,000 students in Haiti. Relief Efforts: After the 2010 earthquake, Gaskov Clerge Foundation rotated multiple teams that offered medical relief to over 3,000 victims. The foundation was also requested by the town of Les Cayes to provide relief for the victims of Hurricane Matthew in 2016. GCF’s relief team delivered relief directly to over 1,000 families victimized by the hurricane Matthew. In 2021, GCF was again requested by the community to intervene as an organization they can trust. The organization is raising $250,000 for its relief effort. The plan is to deliver 500+ families with a tent, water, a food kit and an hygiene kit. Then the local medical team on the ground will take mobile clinics to the impacted neighborhood to ensure these communities are receiving continuity of care and wound care. Lastly, GCF, in coordination with the Haitian Diaspora Emergency Response Unit (HDERU), will identify up to 20 families as recipient of assistance to helm them rebuild their homes. GCF is targeting to impact 500+ displaced families. Annual Budget: Medical Center: $200,000 Scholarships: $15,000 Sports Tournament: $5,000 Relief efforts per event: $250,000+
