Mission Statement
The 2617 Club helps people in Central Wisconsin by providing a safe place to "hang out" during the day, with meetings scheduled every day to help people overcome addiction issues.
About This Cause
Because of limited funding, the 2617 Club, LLC is always looking for money to help operate the area we have to continue holding meetings and to be able to fund programming for those less fortunate who need a safe place from Alcohol and Drugs. This Safe House is in the Central Wisconsin Center for Non Profits (CWCNP) in Stevens Point, WI. The 2617 Club started in 2004 with a dream from several local people looking to help others in their quest to overcome addictions of all types. We have or had meetings for AA, NA, Nicotine Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous and Gamblers Anonymous. We have policies in place that have stiff penalties for people who bring in alcohol or drugs into the club, as well as a policy of no gambling. The 2617 Club provides some computers so people can apply for a job or just work on homework or other issues that they need to work on. The 2617 Club is totally self funded with all volunteers for all jobs.
