About This Cause
The United Way of Frederick County seeks to create lasting change by uniting local resources to provide the most effective response to community issues and investing in services that provide impact in the areas of education, financial stability, and health to the residents of Frederick County, Maryland. The United Way of Frederick County seeks to build the strength of our neighborhoods. We bolster the health of our communities. And we change the lives of those who walk by us every day. The United Way of Frederick County grants funds to organizations focused on measurable outcomes in the areas of Education, Income, and Health and routinely recruits volunteers and expert leaders to advance the common good through community forums, on-going summer service projects, and other service activities. The New Prosperity Center is a joint initiative of the United Way of Frederick County and the Housing Authority of the city of Frederick, designed to help provide resources for the working poor. The Prosperity Center provides residents free tax preparation, asset-building tools, and access to community resources. Our goal over the next 10 years is to improve the financial stability for half of this population.
