Mission Statement
Sasha Bruce envisions a community where all young people and their families have access to the resources they need to thrive. We achieve this by improving the lives of more than 15,000 runaway, homeless, opportunity youth and their families in the Washington, DC area.
About This Cause
No matter the reason, a young person who needs a place to stay can find a home at Sasha Bruce. They can also access counseling and other support services that can lead them back to a more stable situation. We operate more than 20 programs including the only children’s home in DC and the only emergency youth home in Prince George’s County, MD. Sasha Bruce provides a variety of programs to remove barriers for young people to prepare for meaningful and satisfying careers. Our prevention works to ensure homelessness is brief, non-recurring, and hopefully non-existent. Our family strengthening program works to resolve conflict that may result in youth running away or getting kicked out of their homes. Plus, we encourage and couch young people to be civically engaged in shaping their community.
