Mission Statement

East Coast Migrant Head Start Project is committed to preparing the children of migrant and seasonal farmworkers for success. We do this by providing holistic, high-quality early childhood education services for children and families in a nurturing, culturally sensitive environment and by providing services and advocating for children and families in their other areas of need.

About This Cause

East Coast Migrant Head Start Project provides high-quality and comprehensive Head Start services to farmworker families in childcare centers located in rural communities from Lake Okeechobee, Florida, to Lake Erie, Pennsylvania. Commencing in 2021, ECMHSP extended its mission-driven work to communities in Indiana and Oklahoma. In addition to our federally-funded work, we support our farmworker families in their other areas of need through our sister nonprofit, The Foundation for Farmworkers. The Foundation raises private funds to provide emergency financial assistance to ECMHSP families, to provide pro bono immigration assistance to ECMHSP families, and to provide need-based educational assistance grants to ECMHSP families.
