Mission Statement
The Chinese Language School of Columbia (CLSC) was founded in 1975 in Howard County, Maryland. The school has been a proud partner of Howard County Public School System since 2008. The school offers traditional Chinese language and Cantonese classes. The program includes two hours of Chinese language and culture curriculum on Sunday afternoon.
About This Cause
CLSC is a nonprofit organization under 501 (C) 3 and is a nonpolitical and nonsectarian educational institution to provide instructions in learning Chinese language and culture. School is open to all regardless of gender, race, religion, or ethnic origin. Chinese Language School of Columbia (CLSC) offers Chinese mandarin language classes, Cantonese language classes, and Chinese- preparatory classes for non-Chinese speaking families. CLSC classes currently range from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade for children age three years to high school students. Our weekly classes consist of two one-hour Chinese language and culture sessions and an option of one-hour extra-curricular activity. The extra-curricular activities suitable for adults and children of all ages include: Tai-Chi Chuan, Chinese Yo-Yo, Basketball, Tennis, Drawing & Sketching, and Chinese Knotting, etc.
