Mission Statement
Our Mission: We build communities of peers to provide support, education, and advocacy for all affected by mental illness. Our community includes individuals living with mental illness, caregivers of someone living with a mental illness, and allies who support our community.
About This Cause
Who We Are: NAMI Montgomery County provides programs at no cost to participants for those living with mental health conditions and for the families that care for them. We provide Support, Advocacy, and Education to those affected by mental health conditions. Our programs change lives; you are not alone. We are here to help. What We Do: We offer two main tracks of programming. These include support groups and classes for those with mental health conditions and support groups and classes for family members, loved ones, and caregivers of those with mental health conditions. We have other programs throughout the year as well. Programs are led by trained volunteers with lived experience. Programs aren't led by clinicians, doctors, or therapists. Programs are free to attend, thanks to our generous donors like you! Programs don't require insurance or referrals. We are a non-government, nonprofit 501C3 organization that relies on private and public funding. At NAMI Montgomery County (NAMI MC), we envision a future where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.
