About This Cause
PACT: Helping Children with Special Needs specializes in working with young children under the age of 5 years. PACT's two programs directly support its community’s most vulnerable young children and their families: infants and toddlers who have complex medical needs, or who are living in homeless shelters,. PACT's WORLD OF CARE medical child care center provides services to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years with complex medical conditions and/or developmental disabilities. Staff includes nurses, social workers, service coordinators, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language therapists and specially trained childcare workers. World of Care is the only program in Central Maryland providing year-round specialized child care for children whose medical conditions require daily nursing interventions; the medical child care center is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education. PACT's THERAPEUTIC NURSERY is a specialized child care center that serves infants & toddlers whose families are currently living in a homeless shelter. The Therapeutic Nursery is the only program in Baltimore City providing child care and Early Head Start services specifically designed for homeless children ages 0-3 years. Many of the programs at the Nursery are designed to build stronger parent-child attachment in order to help our families heal from trauma, enhance family stability and to break the cycle of homelessness. The Therapeutic Nursery child care center is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education.
