Mission Statement
The Center's mission is to nurture high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and to encourage collaboration between and among leaders in the global community.
About This Cause
With 30 years of experience, the Center has developed the Research Science Institute (RSI), the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), and the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP). CEE’s programs are unique and are offered cost-free to all students and teachers selected to participate. CEE’s Research Science Institute (RSI) was inaugurated in 1984, and is offered in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). RSI is a six week summer enrichment program that emphasizes advanced theory and research in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In 2002, the Center developed and implemented the first-ever USA Biology Olympiad (USABO) to train future leaders in the biological sciences. The USABO is jointly sponsored with Purdue University. This program concentrates on stimulating young scholars’ intellectual curiosity and developing their critical thinking skills in biological reasoning, and culminates with the U.S. Team’s participation in the International Biology Olympiad. The Center has launched the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP) to assure a future talented and diverse U.S. workforce in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). TEP provides opportunities for high school teachers to connect with experts from industry and academia to explore cutting-edge research and make meaningful professional links with direct benefits for their students.
