Mission Statement

The DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust is dedicated to one, single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. To carry out this responsibility, the Charitable Service Trust supports physical and psychological rehabilitation programs; enhances research and mobility for veterans with amputations and spinal cord injuries; benefits aging veterans; aids and shelters homeless veterans; evaluates and addresses the needs of veterans wounded in recent wars and conflicts and their caregivers.

About This Cause

The DAV Charitable Service Trust is recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It was set up in 1986 primarily to facilitate fundraising opportunities through employee workplace giving campaigns. Specifically, to meet the requirements of donors who wish to contribute to DAV through special giving arrangements, such as payroll deduction workplace giving campaigns, corporate matching gift programs, and charitable gift annuities. A significant portion of the Trust’s contributions come through the United Way and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), our government's employee giving program. Through these generous gifts, the DAV Charitable Service Trust is able to support programs ensuring quality health care for veterans and research initiatives for veterans with amputations, spinal cord injuries, and more; provide assistance to veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), and substance abuse issues; and launch initiatives for evaluating and addressing the needs of veterans from each era of conflict.
