Mission Statement
Save a Child's Heart saves the lives of children dying of heart disease in developing countries around the world.
About This Cause
SACH has saved the lives of thousands of children from 72 countries around the world. SACH is completely dedicated to the principle that every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of nationality, religion, race, gender or financial situation. For the vast majority of our patients, every penny of their medical costs is covered by SACH. Everyone on the SACH medical team volunteers his time. In addition to providing free lifesaving cardiac surgery, we also train medical personnel from developing countries and lead medical missions. We have trained Tanzania's, Ethiopia's, and Zambia's first pediatric cardiac surgeons. Almost half the children we treat are from Gaza and the Palestinian Authority; 40% are from Africa; 4% are from Eastern Europe and the Americas; and 7% are from Asia. SACH has been recognized for its accomplishments by the United Nations, European Union, and the United States Government.
