Mission Statement
The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Educational Foundation endeavors to remove or diminish barriers to academic achievement.
About This Cause
Founded in 1988, the Foundation supports MCPS strategic initiatives, supports equitable opportunities for MCPS students to learn and grow; and supports community engagement in support of student achievement. The Foundation takes a special interest in the needs of MCPS students who experience economic and social disadvantage. Specific initiatives include the following Campaigns: ACES (provides a pathway to college for students who will be the first in their families to go); Digital Access (provides Chromebooks and WiFi devices for students without such access at home); Dine with Dignity (settles school lunch debt); Linkages to Learning Summer Camp program; GIVE BACKpacks (provides school supplies for the start of school); Toolkits (a campaign fueled by retiree gifts for special sensory learning aids for disadvantaged Kindergarten students); and funds in support of the foundation's grants program.
