Mission Statement
The Northeast Regional Early Intervention Collaborative, Inc. (NREIC) is a non-profit organization serving Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties. Its mission is to coordinate and ensure high quality community-based, family-centered early intervention services to children birth to three years of age and their families by providing a regional system point of entry for referral to the NJEIS as well as assisting the lead agency with data collection, child find/public awareness, family support and personnel development.
About This Cause
The New Jersey Department of Health established the NREIC in 1993 with the aim of coordinating and planning an early intervention service system. To ensure the optimal development of infants and toddlers with specific developmental requirements, the NREIC is dedicated to delivering an early intervention service system that is centered around families, driven by families, rooted in communities, and respectful of diverse cultures. The NREIC aids families by assisting them in obtaining referrals and conducting developmental assessments for determining eligibility. Moreover, the organization ensures that families are well-informed about the NJEIS, including their rights and procedural protections. The NREIC also fosters collaboration within local communities. It provides support to the Department of Health in various aspects of the service system, such as managing data, offering training and technical guidance, providing family support, raising public awareness about child find, conducting developmental assessments, delivering direct IFSP services, managing the State Interagency Coordinating Council, ensuring continuous service coordination, and safeguarding procedural rights.
