Mission Statement

Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine is a private, not-for-profit, community health care provider, governed by a community-based board of trustees. Opened in 1973, the original 59-bed, short-stay hospital has grown into a comprehensive acute care medical center with 267 licensed beds, specializing in women’s and children’s services, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gerontology, psychiatry, emergency services and community health education. In June 1998, Howard County General Hospital joined Johns Hopkins Medicine.

About This Cause

Howard Hospital Foundation Founded in 1992, the Howard Hospital Foundation sole purpose is to provide philanthropic support to Howard County General Hospital. Through the generosity of many donors, the foundation helps the hospital respond to the health care needs of its growing community, fostering world-class medical care and wellness services in a local setting. All gifts to Howard County General Hospital stay here in the local community and their is no philanthropic funding to or received from Johns Hopkins Medicine.
