Mission Statement
The Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) is a national leader in mental health services for the adoption and foster care community. C.A.S.E. improves the lives of children who have been adopted or in foster care and their families through counseling, lifelong education, and a growing national network of trained professionals.
About This Cause
C.A.S.E. combines best practices and innovation to provide premier resources and training to advance permanency for children and promote the healthy growth and development of families, nationally and internationally. 1) Children and adults need support in order to cope with confusing and often traumatic experiences 2) Early therapeutic intervention leads to long-term success in managing adoption-related grief and trauma 3) Foster children, adoptees and their families deserve a safe, supportive environment to share their feelings and experiences 4) Family-based, strengths-based and evidence-based approaches yield the best outcomes 5) Candid, open discussion about adoption promotes healthy adjustment 6) Therapists trained in adoption-competency are best-suited to help the families and communities we serve 7) Schools, youth groups, civic organizations, employers and public-policy that are adoption-sensitive are important for the well-being of every community 8) Counseling and support services must be available to all who need them, regardless of income C.A.S.E. implements its core values through direct, specialized clinical services; parent and professional training and education; adoption advocacy at the community, national, and international levels; participating in groundbreaking adoption research; fundraising; and the development and production of print and electronic resources to aid adopted children, families, and the professionals who support them.
