Mission Statement
The mission of the Frederick County Nature Council is to provide support and advocacy for Fountain Rock and Catoctin Creek Parks by establishing, maintaining, and enhancing four primary goals: stewardship, volunteerism, membership, and fundraising opportunities.
About This Cause
The Frederick County Nature Council is part of the parent organization, the Frederick County Association of Recreation Councils. The Frederick County Nature Council primarily supports the nature parks and nature centers within the Frederick County Parks and Recreation network of parks, with a focus on Fountain Rock Park and Nature Center and Catoctin Creek Park and Nature Center. The Frederick County Nature Council supports the nature parks and centers within Frederick County by (1) providing volunteers for native plant garden management, native plant sales, weed pulls/invasive species management; (2) contributing donations to support park needs, (3) sponsoring events and educational programming, and (4) assisting with the Master Naturalist program for Frederick County Parks.
