Mission Statement
To promote and grow competitive cycling in the Greater Houston area and continue the operation or Alkek Velodrome.
About This Cause
The Greater Houston Cycling Foundation was set up in 2007 to save Alkek Velodrome from closure. Alkek Velodrome is now the only velodrome in Texas and one of very few still operating in the US. Since that time GHCF has run numerous programs and events including our Youth Cycling League and Adult and Junior Race Programs. Through these numerous national champions and professional cyclists have been introduced and grown into the sport. These programs continue to this day.
