Mission Statement
Marshy Point Nature Center Council Inc.is a non-profit volunteer citizens group. The Council seeks to encourage an abiding appreciation of nature, to increase awareness of environmental issues, to inspire individuals to preserve a healthy planet and to support the Marshy Point Nature Center and its educational programs.
About This Cause
The council is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. In cooperation with the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks, the purpose of this Council shall be to advise, recommend, promote, conduct and develop nature interpretation and conservation programs and projects. Further objectives of this Council include: 1. To provide recreational and educational programs and exhibits regarding natural history and conservation for all members of the public, e.g., youth, families, elderly and handicapped, regardless of sex, age, creed or origin of birth. 2. To coordinate Council programs with those of public, charitable and private organizations having to do with natural history, conservation, and community enhancement where, in the opinion of the Council, these programs are compatible with the objectives stated in (1) above. 3. To enlist volunteers to help conduct and enrich its programs and projects. 4. To solicit funds from individuals, organizations, businesses, foundations and governmental bodies to support and enrich its programs and projects.
